Povilas Bingelis is a Lithuanian professional musician and fine art painter. His dual devotion to music and visual art deeply shapes his creative practice, bringing an inherent sense of rhythm, atmosphere, and contemplation to the canvas.
Working across multiple mediums, Bingelis deliberately pairs his materials with his subject matter. His landscapes and still lifes (nature morte) are rendered traditionally in rich oils on canvas and wood, focusing on texture, depth, and the quiet, elemental presence of the physical world. In contrast, his abstract works are executed in bold acrylics on canvas, allowing for spontaneous, fluid expressions of movement and emotion.
Whether channeling the quietude of physical landscape or the invisible energy of a musical movement, his work ultimately explores the harmony between structure and freedom, sound and silence.
Bingelis currently lives and works in Basel, creating original fine art, limited-edition prints, and select custom commissions.
